Focus and Scope
SANE journal publishes peer-reviewed articles from researchers and practitioners from a variety of disciplines seeking to add significantly to the global knowlede associated with all aspects of graphica (comics, graphic novels, and its related forms) and education. Reviews of sequential art narratives and their associated scholarship as it pertains to teaching or learning through them are also published, as are resources designed to help educators integrate comics texts into their classrooms.

Peer Review Process
SANE journal is peer-reviewed by those who have already contributed significantly to the area of comics-and-education and invites articles from those seeking to do the same. Typically, the editor and two reviewers will review an article. Articles should adhere to MLA or APA standards and not be under consideration elsewhere throughout the articles' review process with SANE journal. Gaining rights to use images is the responsibility of the author. Upon publication in SANE journal, the author retains rights to republish in other forms so long as SANE journal is acknowledged as the original source of publication. All submissions should include a short biography of the author in which the author mentions affiliations and any previous work concerning comics and education.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Archiving
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
